What began as a personal pursuit gradually found its way into galleries and exhibition spaces. Since 2006, my photographs have been shown in Singapore at venues including The British Club, The Arts House and Alliance Française de Singapour.
The Arts House – February 2009. A collection themed on Asia, 59 pictures showcased my observations during my travels across the region. I donated all proceeds to two children’s charities.

I am a purist and remain faithful to the truth and spontaneity of what I see and capture on film, presenting the moment to the viewer as purely and honestly as possible.
Being self-taught, my instincts and disregard for conventional rules of form, design and school drive me to seek new freedoms of perception and expression.
The story behind the photographs.
My interest in photography began during my high school years, when access to a camera was occasional and borrowed. Moving to the UK changed that. I acquired a professional camera and a couple of lenses—equipment I still use today—and began a decade of travel, experimentation and self-teaching.
In 2005, a corporate in London purchased a themed collection of my photographs for its offices. That encouragement led me to pursue photography more seriously after moving to Singapore.
I remain entirely self-taught, having never received formal instruction in the techniques or tools of photography.

The constant theme throughout Devendra’s 30 year career in the Financial Industry has been his performance coaching, both in the corporate environment as well as in a private capacity.
