A life of looking, travelling and photographing.

Self-taught and photographing across the globe for several decades, my work is driven by curiosity, spontaneity and a belief that everything has visual beauty to offer.

A brief run-up to the present

My interest in photography began during my high school years. I had an intense passion for art and photography, but there was only occasional access to a borrowed camera. All this changed when I moved to the UK and acquired a professional camera and a couple of lenses. Over the next decade, I travelled extensively and taught myself through mistakes and experimentation.

In 2005, I received a boost when a corporate in London bought a themed set of pictures for their offices. This encouraged me to pursue photography more seriously after moving to Singapore.

I remain self-taught, having had no formal instruction in the techniques or tools of photography.

Philosophy and credo

I am a purist and remain faithful to the truth and spontaneity of what I see and capture on film – presenting the moment to the viewer pure and unchanged. Being self-taught, my instincts and disregard for rules of form, design and school drive me to seek new freedoms of perception and expression.

My portfolio is eclectic — the canvas is spread across the globe, from Mongolia to Argentina, Scotland to Vietnam, and my subjects range from people and animals to nature and architecture.

I firmly believe that all things have visual beauty to offer. Whether you see it or not depends on your point of view.

Exhibition archive

From photographs to exhibitions.

What began as a personal pursuit gradually found its way into galleries and exhibition spaces. Since 2006, my photographs have been shown in Singapore at venues including The British Club, The Arts House and Alliance Française de Singapour.

The Arts House – February 2009. A collection themed on Asia, 59 pictures showcased my observations during my travels across the region. I donated all proceeds to two children’s charities.

Exhibition history

The first fully planned and curated exhibition, featuring 54 photographs taken across the world.

A repeat of the previous exhibition, accompanied by new images.

59 photographs themed around Asia.

55 photographs again centred on Asia, exploring the changing environment and ethos of the region.

Photography & Philanthrophy

Through my travels, I am acutely aware of the stark inequalities that scar society and am committed to making a difference for those mired in poverty and disadvantage.

To this end, I have challenged my art, donating all sale proceeds (after reducing only the cost of prints and frames sold) to worthy charities. This has been up to 88% of gross sales.

Any photos purchased by you will be treated in exactly the same way — the price minus the cost of print/frame will be donated to the charity of your choice.

For purchase enquiries or interest, please contact me.

Charities supported through my last two exhibitions:

  • The Agape Orphanage and Learning Center is located in Mae Sot in Thailand near the Myanmar border. It provides a home for orphaned and abandoned children as well as a school for them and other less fortunate children in the area.
  • St Andrews Autism Center is a school for autistic children in Singapore. It is supported by the Anglican church of Singapore.
  • SIITA Nest Mother’s Love Home is a refuge for Aids orphans in Jinja, Uganda. Run by the remarkable Alice Kisolo, children here also get education and vocational training.
  • Bishan Home provides care and a home for intellectually challenged adults in Singapore. While the residents get professional care, their families are able to have peace of mind and an improved quality of life.
